In brief from my understanding..
If we will compare Islam, Hinduism and Christianity :
Old testament had contained few violent verses : such as - stoning disobedient sons.
Jesus came and he brought the peaceful non-violence messages of 'New testament' , 'which was timely and withstood the demand of tolerance in the 21st century . Given equal rights to men and women. As a prophet, Jesus himself was peaceful man.
'Srimad Bhagbad Gita' - was told by Lord Sri Krishna with in the same context of war (like Quaran) and the Lord justified the 'war against Evil', after he himself had failed to get 5 villages for Pandavas from Duryadhana. He maintained his cool, even when Duryodhana tried to put him in jail. He had forgiven Shishusupal , the Krishna Basher 100 times before chopping his head.
The Lord always sided with the good.
On the contrary, if you will read the life of prophet Mohammad, he received heavenly messages from Angel Gabriel and demanded (not requested) that the '360 idols' of Kaaba to be removed as Islam is the only true religion. Mecca was then used to be a prime trade route and the Quresh tribe was in control of the Kaaba since (around) 450 AD. After prophet Mohammad got heavenly messages, he mocked the existing religions and asked the Quresh /Mecca tribes to embrace Islam.
If today any one of us goes to Jama Masjid with such heavenly revelation claims of a new religion Islam-II, the new testament, what will happen to us ? Our head or hands may be chopped off with in no time.
In spite of the Prophet Mohammad's open challenge to Kaaba's 360 idols, the Quresh didn't harm him physically. They did what our Hindutva Brigade is doing to Painter M.F. Hussain. (Please read the book Islamic Jihad for more in details).
You may note the cycle w.r.to Hussain:
First Prophet Mohammad publicly challenged and mocked an existing religion [ M.F. Hussian's infamous nude Painting ]
Queresh tribe snubbed him, which was fair enough [ Hindutva anger - fair enough - no physical harm in both cases ]
Prophet Mohammad was given visiting Kaaba in spite of hostility [ Indian Government allowed M.F.Hussian in India in spite of his nude mother India painting]
Prophet Mohammad attacks Kaaba and destroys the 360 idols and declares that " Truth is arrived and falsehood is perished". i.e. Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism all these are false and Islam is only peaceful. [ Compare this with of M.F.Hussain gains strength and attacks at the RSS Headquarters at Nagpur,wins and installs all his nude painting over there ]
Was not it unfair for prophet Mohammad to propagate his religion in such a rude way. In those 360 idols, idols of Jesus and Mary were also there.
I would urge all the Muslims to visit the Sun Temple at Konark (Orissa) and see how the hands of Idols had been chopped off by Islamic invaders.
It amazed me to note that the war against the Quresh was not between good and evil. The objective of this war was to take control of Kaaba and destroy the idols, which was an important step for rise of Islam.
The prophet himself had set a precedence to enforce Islamic beliefs at gun point, which the Islamic invaders followed suit.
The ancestors of all Indian Muslims were Hindus, who were most likely forcefully converted or offered jobs in Military of Islamic kings.
Today, secularism exists only in places where non-Muslims are in power or majority. India, Europe and America. recall the Islamic protest for Amarnath yatra.
Note the percentage of Hindus in Pakistan and Bangladesh - 1947 vs 2010..
I was just showing the mirror to Muslims and was educating the pseudo-seculars, who are under the impression that - "all religion teach us peace" . I didn't mean to offense any community in particular and would be glad to answer any questions from my researched knowledge of Islam.

Barbaric act
Kerala professor's hand chopped off for offending faith
Thiruvananthapuram, July 4, DHNS:
A college professor who framed a question allegedly defaming the Prophet had his right wrist chopped off by a group of unidentified persons at Muvattupuzha in Ernakulam district on Sunday morning.
Police said Prof T J Joseph was returning with his family after attending church when a group of people in a Maruti Omni waylaid him near his home at Muvattupuzha. Joseph was pulled out of his car and attacked with knives and swords. His right hand at the wrist was chopped off and thrown a few metres away. The professor was rushed to a Muvattupuzha hospital and later to a multispeciality hospital in Kochi where doctors are trying to stitch together his severed wrist. He has also suffered cuts and wounds in other parts of his body.
Joseph, a Malayalam professor at Newman's College, Thodupuzha, is on bail after being arrested in April for preparing a question paper with alleged inflammatory references to Prophet Mohammed for an examination in a private college. He was suspended from service following protests from Muslim organisations. Joseph later apologised publicly for his "unintentional mistake". Joseph's mother said her son had been receiving threats for quite sometime.
Police have seized the van used by the miscreants and rounded off two people who were in it. However, sources said the miscreants had already escaped when the cops got to the vehicle. Those who have been picked up are activists of the Popular Front of India, formerly known as a right wing Muslim organisation called the National Development Front in Kerala.
The incident has been condemned by many organisations including the Indian Union Muslim League and the Jama'at-e-Islami which called for tough action against the culprits. State Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan said all leads on the issue including terror angle were being investigated while Education Minister M A Baby regretted that some people had communalised the question paper issue.
