Re :BTN: Development only Way to End Naxalism: CM

Law and Order and Land reforms is the key to bring back Bihar on right track. While no industrialist want to invest in Bihar  and in the state where 95% of state revenue goes to salary of state government employee there is lack of resourse to induce quick growth. Best way is to start with what we got.  We got water, we got manpower, we got hard working people, we got some of the best fertile  land.

Agriculture may not look so glamorous but it has potential to become biggest economic asset  when we have less and less food and more  more demand. It may give edge to our state in 10+ years. Naxalism  can play spoil sport and hinder that agricultural growth unless we have rule of law in the state

Nitish wanted to impliment land reform but I am not sure what is stopping him still, he should think about it before election. If he can impliment land reform than it will be one more achivement of our last hope ( Nitish Kumar )  to this great state of Bihar.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, during a meeting of the Chief Ministers from seven Naxal-hit states in New Delhi on Wednesday, said Naxalism could be defeated only by widespread developments in the state and a sustained effort by the government to educate the youths of the dangers of an outlawed lifestyle.

"In our zeal to defeat Naxalism, we must not ignore the principles of human rights and before a strike against the ultras is ordered, other social and human issues must not be overlooked," the Chief Minister said.

Talking about various schemes implemented by the NDA government in Bihar to minimize extremist activities, Kumar said programs like 'Your Government at Your Doorsteps' have helped give new hopes to the youths in the state who were increasingly rejecting the life of an outlaw and adopting ways to be productive citizens and be a part of the mainstream society.

Kumar also emphasized the need for sweeping land reforms, rehabilitation and education among ultras surrendering their arms in favor of a more peaceful life.

Bihar Home Secretary Afzal Amanullah and Director General of Police D. N. Gautam were also present at the meeting.
