Bihar's Rohit kumar recently elected spokesman of the 'Bharatiya Chhatra Sansad' ( Indian Student Parliament) (ISP), Delhi state

PATNA: Bihar's Rohit kumar it currently pursuing graduation course in English from Dayal Singh college, Delhi, has recently been elected as the spokesman of the 'Bharatiya Chhatra Sansad' ( Indian Student Parliament) (ISP), Delhi state. The ISP was set up in the year 2011.

Being a student leader from Delhi university, he has participated in 2nd ISP and selected to contest the student council election for the post of spokesperson ISP Delhi State on the basis of his qualification and experience. Rohit a resident of Patna's Salimpur Ahra locality did his early education from Bihar.
Rohit kumar (spokesperson Delhi State) has defeated his nearest rival Ananya Jain a law student from Delhi. "Being a convener of literary society, Dayal Singh college, Delhi I am also closely associated with smoke free brigade , anti -ragging squad , RTI awareness programme and human rights of DU", Rohit told TOI.
"I want to bring about a perceptible changes in various sectors. I am here with the unflinching commitment and keen desire to address the travails of the society with comprehensive generosity", he told TOI.
The Mission of ISP is to mobilize the student union leaders of India to come together on a single platform with a view to entering public life and bringing about a positive change in the leadership of the country. This will be done by regularly convening parliament of student leaders at national and state levels in collaboration with the state legislative assemblies and by exposing the leaders to eminent personalities of repute, who will guide them in this endeavour.
Isha Jha from Darbhanga has been elected president of Bihar state. She has done her graduation from MLSM College, Darbhanga in 2012. She represented ISP from L N Mithila University Darbhanga. Another student Pranav Kumar pursuing degree course from SDM college of Engineering, Dharwad (2009-13) has been elected spokesman Bihar state.
Isha Jha (President Bihar State) defeated Gaurav Mani Prasad from Barauni persuing graduation from Mumbai. Pranav Kumar (spokesperson Bihar state) defeated Manish Raj from MLSM college, Darbhanga.
Among 10,000 total members of ISP, around 2,000 nominations came initially. On the basis of their educational qualifications and work experience, two nominations were selected for each posts of president and spokesperson from all 28 states and union territories of India. The members of ISP were asked to vote them on the basis of their profile.
ISP is organised by the MIT School of Government, Pune, which is the country's only institution of its kind modelled on the Harvard University's J F Kennedy School of Government, committed to preparing leaders for democratic societies. The former chief election commissioner T N Seshan is chairman of ISP. Around 10,000 student council leaders participated in the 2nd ISP (January 2012) and get to interact with leading personalities from different walks of life.
There was total 9 plenary sessions on dedicated themes. Eminent personalities like cricketer Kapil Dev, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar - founder, Art of Living Foundation, Shashi Tharoor - Former union MoS for external affairs and columnist participated sessions on dedicated themes.
Student Leaders who had registered for the elections after the 1st ISP (2011) and all those who had participated in the 2nd ISP (2012) got an opportunity to offer themselves for consideration of the presidents and spokesman posts in the ISP Students' Council. The participants ranked them for their preferneces on a scale of 0-5 points. The candidate with the highest score were elected for two posts-presidents and spokesman.
