'Kaun Banega Crorepati', hosted by Amitabh Bachchan, on January 13. Sharing the hot seat with him will be Manoj Bajpayee, a popular Bollywood actor who also hails from Bihar.
Manoj Kumar is a Class XI student of the fully-free English medium residential school for Musahar children
run by Shoshit Seva Sangh (SSS). He appears in a special edition of the
reality show. He will donate the prize money to the SSS for the
construction of the school's proposed building.
It is learnt
that Bachchan was surprised and moved to hear about the plight of
Musahar community in Bihar, so named as they traditionally used to catch
and eat rats. Both Bachchan and Bajpayee were quite appreciative of the
project launched by SSS to provide quality education to the children of
Musahar community to empower them to compete with the best.
The SSS was founded by JK Sinha, an IPS officer who retired as special
secretary in Research and Analysis Wing (RAW). The organization had
acquired two acres of land and plans to construct a building to
accommodate 500 Musahar students initially and up to 1,000 by 2020. It
will have all the facilities mandated by the Central Board of Secondary
Education (CBSE), including science and computer laboratories, libraries
etc.
"You will be happy to know that Amitabh Bachchan's KBC
has done an episode for SSS. A student of our school, Manoj Kumar,
shared the hot seat with Manoj Bajpayee. Big B was moved and was highly
appreciative of the project. He has blogged about it," Sinha said.
Manoj, 18, incidentally, is a resident of Jamsaut village in Patna district. His father Mahesh Manjhi is a worker
