PATNA: For all those who love to spend a few solitary hours in the lap of nature at the Rajdhani Vatika, there is good news. State's environment and forest department is spending Rs1.57 crore on upgrading the park.
As summer is not too far, the department will make available to the
visitors not only cool but also RO (reverse osmosis) purified water to
quench their thirst after a long and tiring walk, as five new water
purifiers have been installed recently. Also, 12 solar lamps have been
installed to keep the area illuminated during night. "Earlier, we had no
backup for frequent power cuts but, now, the area will remain
illuminated during night," said divisional forest officer (DFO) Gopal
Singh.
The visitors will also enjoy the soothing instrumental music
all over the park during their evening and morning strolls. To make it
more refreshing for the visitors, 20 new high-quality speakers have been
installed in the park. "Earlier there were five speakers but they were
not sufficient for the area. Additional speakers with high sound quality
will add to the ambience," .
"The project has been
divided into two phases. The first phase is about to finish and by the
end of May this year, the entire work will be completed," he said.
Besides, the first phase will also see the installation of a larger
screen of 16X12 feet to show wildlife movies. Also, to ensure greater
security, eight security personnel have been hired.
In the second phase, altogether seven to eight CCTV
cameras will be installed at the two gates, underpass and other areas
of the park. The second phase will add to the beauty of the park. There
will be high-mast lights and a new fountain between the two existing
ones. A lily pond is also proposed.
Earlier, the park had
little to please children under the age of 6 years as the slides and
swings were used only by grownup children. Now, smaller slides and
swings will be there. Also, nameplates with scientific names of the
plants and their characteristics, like the ones in Patna zoo, may be placed.
