Magadh University Patna are fully prepared to start Admission

PATNA: Colleges under Magadh University (MU) are bracing for admitting students to Intermediate (Plus two) course this year. Though the result of matriculation examination conducted by Bihar School Examination Board is likely to be published by May 28, these colleges having intermediate section too, have worked out details regarding sale and submission of forms. With Intermediate teaching completely de-linked from Patna University, colleges under MU are likely to face a huge rush of admission seekers.
A N College, Patna, is fully geared up for admitting students to Intermediate in science and arts streams. Merit will be the sole criterion for admitting students to the courses. The college will start selling admission forms from June 4 and accept them till June 30, said college principal Haridwar Singh.
According to Singh, the college would start admission process from the first week of July. There are 860 seats in arts and 1,152 seats in science streams. The cut-off marks was 75% in science and 60% in arts stream last year. Besides, the college has invited applications for admission to Degree-level vocational courses till June 12, he said.
Arvind Mahila College, Patna, will start selling admission forms for the Intermediate course from June 4 and students can submit forms till June 30. The cut-off marks was 60% in science and 50% each in arts and commerce streams last year, said college principal Asha Singh, adding the college will also invite applications for admission to PG course in MCom this year.
J D Women's College, Patna, has also started preparing for admission to Intermediate course. Forms would be available at the college counter from the first week of June and students can submit their forms till June 30, said college principal Usha Singh.
Similarly, other MU colleges, including B D College, T P S College, College of Commerce and B S College, Danapur, all at Patna, are fully prepared to start admission procedure to Intermediate and Degree part 1 courses after publication of matriculation and Intermediate results by the end of this month, sources said.
B D College would start sale of admission forms for the Intermediate course from the first week of June. The last date for submission of forms would be June 30. The college, which offers science, arts and commerce streams, would select students for admission on merit. The cut-off marks in science was 70% last year, while it was 60% in both arts and commerce streams, said college principal B N Ojha, adding the college has a separate section for girls in commerce at the Intermediate level .
B S College, Danapur, would start sale of forms from the first week of June 4 for Intermediate course. The college would accept admission forms till June 30 and shortlist the first admission list by the second week of July. Though merit would be the sole criterion for admission, the college would give preference to poor and meritorious students, including girls, in admission to Intermediate course, said college principal Pravin Kumar.
