After our conversation yesterday where you had mentioned that your team has taken decision to just distribute clothes, not food grains for 2 months as you were fearing food shortage soon & Government is currently giving the grains to Manganj , I checked with Ashok of Manganj and learnt that Government is not distributing grains yet.
General flood relief from Govt has not reached their panchayat yet and also Individual grain grants for flood-affected people were not picked up by most people in Manganj because water level went down causing no boat rides and roadways still not accessible.
Swati & I talked to them and feel food grain help is still very much in need in Manganj and will appreciate if you can send relief to those places. Also, AID-US North Carolina chapter has specifically approved $15,000 for supporting Manganj and it will be good if that fund is used there.
Please let us know your thoughts.
