PATNA: The the office of regional provident fund commissioner on Monday made the employee provident fund officers (EPFOs) of 80 industries in the state at the Bihar Industries Association
(BIA) aware of the method of filing online challans and remittance of
employers' contribution towards Employees Provident Fund (EPF).
Regional provident fund commissioner-II Rajesh Pandey gave power-point presentation on the newly introduced e-Sewa for online filing of challans and EPF remittance effective from this month, for which this awareness programme was organized. EPF contribution by employers is to be paid online through a system maintained by the State Bank of India, he said
BIA president K P S Keshri and secretary general Sanjay Goenka urged the regional provident fund commissioner to give a grace of two months to the industries-employers or waive interest and penalty for two months as the awareness programme about e-Sewa has come a bit late while this service was made effective from April 1 itself. The BIA also sought organization of such awareness programme by the PF officials.
