UGC Extended date online Submission Application for NET

PATNA: University Grants Commission (UGC) has extended the date for online submission of application forms for its NET (national eligibility test) to May 2.
This followed complaints that the postgraduate scholars of different universities in Bihar had not been able to access the UGC's website to fill up and submit the forms for the test, scheduled for June 24.
Earlier April 30 was the last date for online submission of forms, said PU development officer and incharge of NET examination Sanjay Kumar Sinha. The last date for submission of hard copies of applications has also been extended to May 9.
Meet on languages:With the pace of economic and cultural globalization accelerating in different parts of the country, many languages face the threat of extinction as people find it easier to communicate in English. These views were expressed by academics at a seminar on "Globalization and extinction of languages" organized jointly by the Hindi and Urdu departments of B N College at Patna on Saturday. College principal P K Poddar presided over the seminar.
Academic staff college:PU's academic staff college will conduct a number of orientation and refresher courses for young teachers during the current financial year.
The UGC has already sanctioned necessary funds for the purpose, said college's new director Prabha Shukla.
