The coaching centre helps poor students prepare for the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology-Joint Entrance Examination (IIT-JEE). The centre has a wonderful record of 25-28 students qualifying the entrance test for the most prestigious engineering college in India.
Anand Kumar, the founder of Super 30 was felicitated by the South Asian Cultural Society at Vancouver, British Colombia for ‘his remarkable’ style of spreading education in one of the darkest corners of Indian society. The function was held last week. Minister of advanced education in British Colombia province Naomi Yamamoto called Anand a “gifted teacher” and said that his government was delighted to welcome teachers like Anand.
The former clerk in postal office began his venture in 2002 when he selected 30 talented and financially poor students after taking a test. The selected IIT-JEE aspirants were provided for their food, lodging and stationery by Kumar.
Since then, Kumar has not looked back, He holds an impressive record of 236 financially poor students going to the IITs from his Super 30 in last nine years.
