Patna: Railway Board Director of health V. K. Ramtek on Friday inaugurated a 75-bed indoor patient service within the newly-built super-specialty hospital of the East Central Railways (ECR) at Karbigahia in Patna.
Ramtek said that the indoor patient service, built at the cost of Rs 38 crore, will house 150 patients once fully completed.
Specializing in kidney treatment, the hospital will offer dialysis service to patients who currently have to go to Mumbai, Bangalore or other big metro for such services, Ramtek said. ECR General Manager Varun Bharthuar, while describing other services available at the hospital, said that it would benefit more than 90,000 railway employees and their family members.
The foundation of the hospital was laid by the former Railway Minister and ex-Chief Minister of Bihar Lalu Prasad Yadav in 2005
